Expanding in Germany: Nic. Christiansen Group acquires BMW and Mini dealership chain

Nic. Christiansen Group is expanding its activities in Germany with the acquisition of the BMW and Mini dealership chain STADAC. This means that the group will now have a total of 18 different BMW dealerships in Denmark and Germany.

The parties have signed an agreement that means Nic. Christiansen Group will take over STADAC effective March 1, 2025. Here, STADAC’s five stores will become part of the northern German chain May & Olde, which also sells BMW and Mini.

Niels Vrist Bertelsen, CEO of Nic. Christiansen Group, explains that the group has had a clear strategy to grow in the German market through May & Olde since the purchase of the renowned chain in 2023.

“Our ambitions with the purchase of May & Olde have always been that we would make further acquisitions and make the chain even larger, thereby strengthening our position in the German market. After very thorough work, we have concluded that STADAC is the right choice for the expansion of May & Olde. It is a chain that fits very well into our plans and gives us an even stronger foundation in Germany,” says Niels Vrist Bertelsen, adding:

“We look forward to further increasing our ambitions in the German market. This is fully in line with Nic. Christiansen Group’s strategic focus on growth. At the same time, we are pleased that with the purchase of STADAC, we can consolidate our strong cooperation with BMW. With the expansion, Nic. Christiansen Group now has 18 BMW dealerships spread between Denmark and Germany, which we are very satisfied with,” explains the CEO.

Experience and expertise will be a great asset

At STADAC, owner Werner Leuchtenberger is also pleased that the takeover of the five locations by the Nic. Christiansen Group is taking place and that they will be operated under the name May & Olde in the future:

“We are very pleased that the Nic. Christiansen Group will continue our tradition and carry on the locations under the renowned name May & Olde."

STADAC’s five stores are located in Northern Germany in the Hamburg area – specifically in the cities of Ahrensburg, Norderstedt, Buchholz, Buxtehude, and Stade. The chain was founded in 1919 and is today owned by the fourth generation of the founding family.
