Nic. Christiansen Group enters into an agreement with Chery Automobile

Nic. Christiansen Group has made an agreement with Chinese OEM Chery Automobile for the import and sales of the two brands Omoda and Jaecoo on the Danish market.

Thereby, the Kolding-based car group expands its portfolio which already counts the brands Ford, Hyundai, Honda, BYD and Jaguar Land Rover. The latter is also a joint venture partner for Chery Automobile in China.

Thus, Nic. Christiansen Group's CEO, Niels Vrist Bertelsen, sees a good match with the new brands in for portfolio:

"We are happy to have made this agreement of the import and sales of Omoda and Jaecoo in Denmark. It is completely in line with our strategic focus on expanding the business and continuously be able to offer the Danish consumer the most interesting cars in the market. We believe that Omoda and Jaecoo are brands that will appeal to a lot of Danish consumers with different needs and preferences - among other things because of the cars' quality and attractive pricing," says Niels Vrist Bertelsen, and continues:

"Chery Automobile may not be that known in Denmark, but it is a significant manufacturer, and also China's largest car exporter. It is also an OEM with great ambitions who already has its own production in Europe. It is clear that they are focused on the European market, and that they aim to achieve a higher market share," the CEO says about Chery Automobile.

Expected launch by Summer

Now that the parties have signed a final agreement, Nic. Christiansen Group directs its focus towards establishing the optimal setup to secure the right framework for a succesful introduction of Omoda and Jaecoo to the Danish market.

"We are currently working on getting the details in place for the import and sales concept, and we expect to launch Omoda and Jaecoo by summer - hereunder of course also the concrete models and prices," says Niels Vrist Bertelsen and continues:

"We expect that sales to happen via an external dealer network. We are now starting to search the market to find the right dealers to join us in launching Omoda and Jaecoo. Our plans will be concretisized during the coming months, so we can create the best possible start for Omoda and Jaecoo in the Danish market," Niels Vrist Bertelsen says.
