Annual report
Nic. Christiansen Group strengthens its strategic foundation in challenging 2024
In a 2024 marked by significant one-time costs and high market volatility, Nic. Christiansen Group delivered a pre-tax profit of DKK 55 million. Revenue stands at DKK 7.93 billion, and equity is DKK 1.154 billion. After a year of further acquisitions and business adjustments, the group is now well-prepared for the coming years.
The financial result is not satisfactory in isolation for Nic. Christiansen Group, but 2024 was a very important year for the group's development and strategic strength. Despite challenging market conditions, Nic. Christiansen Group has executed its strategy of business expansion and consolidation.
This means that Nic. Christiansen Group has grown significantly, and according to CEO Niels Vrist Bertelsen, the group stands on a very strong foundation.
"2024 has been a year of transition for Nic. Christiansen Group, where we have made some important and necessary business decisions, resulting in several adjustments and the addition of new units to the group," he says and continues:
"Our divestment of Hyundai in Sweden and Jaguar Land Rover in Norway and Sweden has been associated with extraordinary one-time costs, and earnings did not meet expectations, which has had a significant impact on the result. Additionally, significant amounts have been invested in the integration of the business areas that joined in 2024. However, the group's continued execution of our strategy means that Nic. Christiansen Group now stands in a very strong position and has a solid foundation for the future," says Niels Vrist Bertelsen.
Bigger and stronger than ever
In addition to the inauguration of Nic. Christiansen Group's new headquarters, NCG Huset on Sjællandsvej in Kolding, 2024 also included business expansion. In Denmark, Nic. Christiansen Group acquired Ford Motor Company A/S, meaning that from the turn of the year 2025, the group took over the import of the traditional brand in Denmark, and in Germany, they acquired the BMW and MINI dealership chain STADAC. This follows a series of acquisitions in recent years, including German May & Olde, North Zealand ERA BILER, and the nationwide workshop chain Skorstensgaard.
"In 2024, we have continued to deliver on our ambitions to strengthen the business through acquisitions and an expanded brand portfolio. We are particularly proud to have added Ford to the business. Nic. Christiansen Group has high expectations for Ford, which is market-leading in commercial vehicles and among the most popular brands among private customers," says Niels Vrist Bertelsen.
Nic. Christiansen Group now stands as a larger and stronger company than ever before. The group has grown significantly and is well-positioned to take advantage of the opportunities that arise in a rapidly changing automotive industry. And the beginning of 2025 has confirmed that the optimism is well-founded, says Niels Vrist Bertelsen.
"Our earnings for the first quarter of 2025 exceed the annual result for 2024. We are, of course, very satisfied with this, and it confirms that we have made the necessary adjustments and that we are very well-positioned to continue our growth journey. Therefore, we have high expectations for 2025 – and the coming years."
Nic. Christiansen Group budgets in 2025 with a significant strengthening of both revenue and earnings and thus expects a pre-tax result of DKK 178 million.
