Nic. Christiansen Group to import and distribute Ford vehicles in Denmark
The Kolding-based automotive conglomerate, the Nic. Christiansen Group, and Ford Motor Company intend to close a final agreement in the second half of 2024 for the Nic. Christiansen Group to import and distribute the Ford brand in Denmark.
For Niels Vrist Bertelsen, Group CEO of the Nic. Christiansen Group, Ford is a perfect fit for the company that has imported vehicles to Denmark for over five decades.
“We are very happy that Ford Motor Company intends to appoint the Nic. Christiansen Group. Ford has been active in Denmark for over 100 years and has a unique history as one of the world’s largest automotive brands. Ford is also consistently among the best-selling car brands in Denmark – both in passenger cars and commercial vehicles,” Niels Vrist Bertelsen says.
Competent and experienced importer
Jon Williams, General Manager for Ford Blue, Ford Motor Company in Europe said, “The Nic. Christiansen Group is a highly experienced importer in the Danish market. We are confident they will create the right framework for the future development and success of the Ford brand in Denmark.”
Ford Motor Company and Nic. Christiansen Group have worked on a framework agreement, which has now been finalized. Niels Vrist Bertelsen emphasizes that Ford fits perfectly into the company's brand portfolio, and also provides Nic. Christiansen Group with a new dimension within commercial vehicles.
"Ford is in the process of transitioning to electric vehicles, and we are confident that the combination of Ford's strong products and our market knowledge will maintain and expand the enthusiasm for Ford among the Danish consumers. Due to Ford's solid position in the market for commercial vehicles, Ford will play a central role in electrifying this part of the market. It's a very exciting perspective," says Niels Vrist Bertelsen, CEO of Nic. Christiansen Group.
Ford has been a consistent presence among the best-selling cars in Denmark and is one of the most recognized and popular automotive brands globally. In 2022, Ford sold 7,810 passenger cars and 6,562 commercial vehicles in Denmark, making Ford the fourth best-selling brand in the country.
Nic. Christiansen Group expects the takeover of the Ford imports to occur in the second half of 2024.
